There is nothing like juicy jerk chicken drumsticks made in the oven. Now, to me- the best jerk chicken is made on the grill- but babe, this still gets the job done!

Whether you grew up making jerk chicken at home, eating it at gatherings, having it at your local Jamaican restaurant or are just now getting into eating it- one thing is for sure, jerk chicken is a vibe.

My recipe for Baked Jerk chicken drumsticks is great for weekly meal preps -or a dinner option that gives you an answer for what you should do with the pack of chicken legs in your freezer.

Shopping List

Chicken drumsticks

All purpose seasoning

Badia complete seasoning

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Ground ginger

Thyme

Extra virgin olive oil

Jerk seasoning (I used Walkerswood mild )

Brown sugar

Browning (I used the Grace brand)

Red bell pepper

Green onion

Add chicken legs, all purpose, complete seasoning , garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, thyme, olive oil, wet jerk seasoning, brown sugar, browning, red bell pepper, and green onion to a large bowl

Add seasoned drumsticks to a large, deep baking dish
Optional – Add 1-2 tablespoons of water to the bowl that you seasoned the chicken in, swirl it around so that it gets all of the leftover seasoning, and pour that into the baking dish
Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour (or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees)- baste chicken legs halfway through the cook time, and a final time once you remove it from the oven

Top Tier Baked Jerk Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients

2-3 pounds chicken drumsticks (washed and pat dry)

3/4 teaspoon adobo all purpose seasoning

1 teaspoon Badia complete seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon ginger, ground

1/2 teaspoon thyme

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoon wet jerk seasoning (Walkerswood mild )

1/2 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon browning (I used the Grace brand)

2 tablespoon red bell pepper, finely diced

2 tablespoon green onion, finely sliced

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2.Add chicken to a large deep bowl.

3.Add all purpose, complete seasoning , garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, thyme, olive oil, jerk seasoning, brown sugar, browning, red bell pepper, and green onion.

4.Mix well until all of the chicken is evenly coated with the seasoning (optional : marinate for 1-4 hours)

5.Add seasoned drumsticks to a large, deep baking dish. (optional: add 1-2 tablespoons of water to the bowl that you seasoned the chicken in, swirl it around so that it gets all of the leftover seasoning, and pour that into the baking dish)

6.Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes (or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees)- baste chicken legs halfway through the cook time.

7.Remove from oven and baste a final time in the pan juices, serve, and enjoy !
