I ordered take out from a popular Japanese Steakhouse last week and I always order the same thing. A large side of chicken fried rice and their appetizer hibachi shrimp. Well for about 2 cups of rice and 8 shrimp I paid $20, and as much I like the food there it hit me that I can make a lot more of that at home for around the same price. And that is how this recipe idea was born. Why spend $80 for surf and turf for 2 at a Japanese Steakhouse when you can make it at home for half the price? Enjoy the recipe as always, let me know how you like it.

Glam kitchen Tips

  • Invest in a wok, it really makes cooking these dishes easier
  • Fresh lemon juice is tastier than the bottle

  • Prep and chop all of your veggies and meats before hand
  • This hibachi style method of cooking is done fast and at a high temperature so you want to give your full attention to it while it is cooking
