My recipe for Air Fryer Jerk BBQ Cornish hens is my way of adding a bit of razzle dazzle to my weeknight dinners. You do not have to wait for the holidays to eat Cornish hens- you can eat them year round.

There was a point in time where I had stopped using my air fryer – but lately I have been using it 2-3 times a week. I absolutely love the convenience of being about to make a top tier dinner in under 30 minutes.

My recipe for Air Fryer Jerk BBQ Cornish hens combine Jamaican jerk seasoning with bbq sauce to make for a juicy, well seasoned poultry dinner dish.

2 Cornish hens

Glam Kitchen all purpose seasoning (http://www.shoptheglamkitchen.com

Badia complete seasoning

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Ground pimento

Jamaican browning (I used the Grace brand)

Walkerwood jerk seasoning (I used mild)

Extra virgin olive oil

Your favorite bbq sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray’s)

Add all purpose seasoning, Badia complete seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, ground pimento, browning, jerk seasoning, and olive oil to Cornish hens
Mix well, make sure Cornish hens are evenly coated with the seasoning
Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees and air fryer the Cornish hens breast down for 20 minutes
Flip the Cornish hens and air fry for another 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees
Remove the Cornish hens from the air fryer and brush them with your favorite bbq sauce

1) How long does it take to cook Cornish hens in the air fryer? My recipe calls for 30-35 minutes at 375 degrees

2)Do I need to preheat the air fryer before cooking the Cornish hens? I would recommend preheating your air fryer, however if you don’t preheat it, you can always add a few more minutes to the cook time if needed

Ingredients

2 Cornish hens

1/2 tsp Glam Kitchen adobo all purpose seasoning

1/2 tsp Badia complete

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon ground pimento

1 teaspoon Jamaican browning

1 tablespoon Walkerwood jerk seasoning (I used mild)

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1/2 cup your favorite bbq sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray’s)

Instructions

1. Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees

2. Remove any giblets from the Cornish hens, clean them (I clean them with vinegar and cold water but this step is optional ), and Pat dry

3. Season the Cornish hens with all purpose seasoning ,complete seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder ,ground pimento , browning, jerk seasoning, and drizzle with olive oil

4. Rub the seasoning all over the Cornish hens until they are evenly coated with seasoning

5. Spray air fryer with non stick spray (I used olive oil non stick spray)

6. Air fry for 20 minutes breast down

7. Flip the Cornish hens and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees

8. Remove Cornish hens from the air fryer and brush with your favorite bbq sauce

9. Serve and enjoy!
