Mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon

These mashed sweet potatoes have a rich, sweet taste with notes of caramel from the brown sugar. The brown sugar enhances the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes and creates a velvety, warm and comforting dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1&½ cup Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Dark rum
  • 5 Tbsp Brown sugar◦
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger◦
  • 1 & ½ tsp Cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Peel and chop sweet potatoes into 2 inch pieces or cubes
  2. Boil in a large pot filled with water for 25-30 minutes or until tender enough for a fork to pass through them with ease
  3. Drain the water from the pot and mash the potatoes
  4. Add in butter and stir well
  5. Add remaining ingredients and stir well until fully combined
  6.  Serve and enjoy !
